The mission of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) is connecting women to learn, play and enjoy golf for business and for fun.
EWGA is a not-for-profit membership association that currently numbers nearly 20,000 members in more than 120 Chapters located throughout the United States and abroad with international Chapters in Canada and France. The Chapters offer a wide range of organized golf activities, player education and development programs, as well as volunteer, social and networking opportunities for both novice and experienced golfers.
EWGA Headquarters is located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. An all-volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of experienced Chapter/Section leaders, golf industry representatives from the LPGA, USGA, PGA of America, as well as golf professionals, governs the Association. All Directors are members of the EWGA.
The Washington DC Metro Chapter serves the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs. Chartered in the spring of 1992, the Chapter has grown to more than 500 active members and is the second largest EWGA Chapter.
Each year, the DC Metro Chapter sponsors a variety of golfing activities for players of all skill levels. These events include, but are not limited to education and player development clinics, league play, golf outings and a number of social events. Each activity is an opportunity for our members to meet new friends, renew old acquaintances, network and have fun!
Here are several good reasons to become an EWGA member!
Learn
Are you new to the game? Our Chapter offers 9-hole clinics for beginners. Start with a few hours of instruction and then take what you learned to the course.
Our Educational Sponsors have certified instructors who offer the opportunity to learn and practice the game as well as improve your overall health and fitness. Our Partners offer year-round private, semi-private, or group lessons/outings to players of all levels.
Play
Our Chapter has fifteen 9-holes after work leagues and a few Sunday leagues throughout the DC Metro area (Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC).
For those wishing to play in a competitive environment, we offer several events.
The Tournament Tour is a program that provides golfers of all levels with 18-hole stroke play golf outings at courses around the Washington metropolitan area. Players compete within flights based on their handicaps. The Tour events are designed to educate EWGA members on how to play in USGA golf tournaments.
The Chapter Championship provides members of all skill levels the opportunity to compete in tournament golf and is part of the largest women's amateur golf tournament of its kind with more than 2,400 members participating in the tournament last year.
Belong and Connect
Our Chapter offers social events throughout the year in addition to golf and education events. Each year, we plan several member mingles and fun events. Check the Events Calendar often so you can join the fun. Whether volunteering to help at an event or just attending, being an EWGA member gives you lots of opportunities to meet new friends, network with other women golfers and have fun!
As a EWGA member you will also enjoy discounts on golf apparel, equipment, courses, travel and much more.
